Great Grandma Larsen's Birthday

Grandma Larsen's Birthday was the day she left to head back home to Utah. So, we celebrated on Labor day and had a fun time! We all went out to eat and Shelby was loving being around all the family.

I ordered a cute little cake from a local bakery and boy did it turn out to be tasty. For some reason the flowers on the cake look orange in this picture, but they were pink for grandma, I promise!

Isn't my grandma just about the cutest thing ever!? I think she's pretty great!

Grandpa's pretty good too ... and Shelby liked talking with him too!

Seth kept trying to snatch the cake while grandma was opening gifts so he could like off the icing ... like no one would notice that!?

We all sang happy birthday ...

And then seth FINALLY got to lick all the icing he wanted! He didn't have any interest in the actual cake, just the icing!

what a crack up!

We attempted to take a 4 generations picture, but this was the best we got ... I know, it's kind of gross.

Seth decided he needed a picture in the chair too ...

and then he thought it would be funny to do his "silly face" with great grandma and grandpa Larsen too!
I think grandma had a fun birthday being around everyone!

Before we knew it the weekend was over and we were getting packed up for the airport. Grandma and Grandpa Larsen decided to take a cat nap before the ride to the airport ... I think we wore them out, especially with the 2 hour time difference!

Shelby and I took everyone to the airport and did a little girl shopping on the way home!

It sure was a special weekend and we were so glad everyone could make it. We had some laughs and enjoyed all the company, so it was a success after all!

Grand Rapids .... OHIO

We decided to do some Ohio exploring and ended up in Grand Rapids, Ohio. We were trying to ride a riverboat that goes on the Eerie canal, but it was closed that day ... of course! We wandered around main street for a while and found some cute antique shops and gift shops to check out. Obviously, just what Seth wanted to do! Anyway, he took a little rest with Nick on a bench and I thought it was too cute not to snap a picture.

Then we ran into a candy store and Seth got a sugar high and was all over the place. This picture makes me laugh!

Great-Grandma and Grandpa Larsen with Seth (who had a mouth full of candy smile on)!

We strolled along the river a little bit and the flowers were so pretty!

"Grampa Dan!" and Seth

Mischief maker himself ...

and Grandpa Cory!

This picture is kind of HILARIOUS, but I realized I needed proof that I was actually there too!
The walk way knobs had this cool horse head on them and I decided they needed to be documented too.

Shelby was asleep for most of our adventure and opened her eyes to look around just before we headed back.

It was a fun day after all. We all ended up with a fun snack and trinket by the end of the afternoon, so it was a success even though the riverboat wasn't running.

Yay for Exploring Ohio!

Shelby's Blessing

Well, since Nick was gone all summer and things have been crazy around our neck of the woods, we decided to wait and do Shelby's church blessing over Labor Day weekend. It was really fun because my parents, Nick's parents, and my grandparents all came in town for the occasion. Seth was overwhelmed with GRANDPARENTS! All he had to do was say grandma or grandpa and about 4 or 5 people would come to his aid! It was a fun filled weekend.

This picture cracks me up. Great Grandpa Larsen was watching Seth play on my mom's Ipad and fell asleep. Seth was just going along playing and grandpa was sacked out!

Here are all the boys watching the first BYU game of the season. Grandpa Larsen was excited that he got to watch with a whole room of BYU fans! But, you can see that there was a lot of technology going on in the room! (laptops and ipad)

Shelby even got a little dressed up for the occasion! She had her BYU bow and blue and gold dress to cheer on the cougars! It must have worked ... right?!

Then came the blessing day! Shelby looked like a chunky little poof ball in her dress. She was so cute. The dress she wore was actually the blessing dress that I was blessed in back in the day. My grandma Wofford (where Shelby's middle name comes from) bought it for my big day many moons ago. Since she was 3 months old and it was made for an infant we had to add on a ribbon to make it close in the back. But, no one could tell and it turned out to be perfect!

My mom also gave her a fancy bracelet (along with some adorable little crystal earrings that she'll be able to wear soon) for her big day. Isn't it just so cute!?

Grandma Wofford and Shelby girl.

Grandma and Grandpa Denzer with Shelby.

The Denzer Fam! We kind of look ridiculous because we were rushing to get out the door and tried to snap a few pictures in on the way out.

We tried to get a picture of Seth and Shelby, but by this point Shelby was SO OVER IT! But they just cracked me up too much so I had to post a few. The best part is her crying doesn't effect Seth's ability to strike a pose! LOL ... he must be my son!

Poor little pouty face!

The blessing was beautiful and it was a great day! When we got home we celebrated with a big dinner. We had ribs, onion casserole, baked beans, watermelon slices and a farmers market fruit salad. For dessert we chomped on some delicious peach and raspberry-peach pie and ice cream! Yummy!

Here is Shelby in her Bumbo chair ... poof girl! She kept leaning more and more, but was having a ball in there.

Daddy and the princess girl!

Mommy and me!

Seth was a big help with the clean up crew! LOL

We went for round 2 of the sibling picture ...

This time, Seth decided to be a little crazy! This kid just cracks us up all day everyday!

It was a perfect day ... although, I'll admit I was stressed out about all the food going right and so tired by the time it was bed time!

More on the fun filled family weekend to come!
