Sundance Chair Lift Picnic

On our Last Saturday in Utah we thought we'd take a break from the normal and do something a little different that EVERYONE could enjoy. We came up with the idea to head up to Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon and ride the chair lift up the Mountain. We got sandwiches in the Deli below and brought them up for a picnic lunch on top of the mountain. It turned out to be the best weather, a beautiful day, and so much fun for everyone! Seth was loving being out in the open!
 It was beautiful!
Chelsea, Bryan and Seth rode up with our lunches in front of me, Shelby and GnG. Seth thought riding the lift was about the coolest thing ever!
Our lunch was delicious on the top and the view and open air was priceless!
Grandpa Larsen brought along some binoculars and Seth was getting the biggest kick out of them!
After lunch Chelsea and Bryan took Seth on a mile long hike around the top of the peak we were at. He had a blast ... and we enjoyed the sun and mountain views while we waited. Gng were getting a kick out of Shelby crawling around and trying to eat the rocks!
She finally started warming up to Grandpa and gave him a little snuggle!
 There are the hikers!
Me and the kiddos ... we had so much fun!
Gng riding down the lift, I think grandma was a little nervous ... but we all made it in one piece!
me and Shelby riding down ... haha , this picture is crazy!
I tried to catch them on the lift in front of us as we were turning around .... you can tell Seth is having the time of his life!
 Sisters, sisters ... (anyone?)
It was a beautiful day and we drove the Alpine loop home which was a great relaxing drive. I was driving with Seth and Shelby asleep in the back and Chelsea and Bryan were driving with GnG asleep in the back ... it was pretty cute! It was a really fun day for everyone and we were glad we got to do a fun activity together we can remember forever!

Sweet Treats in Utah

While we still had some of the gang in town we decided to head up to Salt Lake and take a tour of the Sweets Factory. (I kept thinking of Sweetums from Parks and Rec ... lol) Anyway, the rules for the tour were pretty intense! We all had to wear hair nets and Nick had to wear a beard net ... HaHa! We all look pretty ridiculous!

Even Shelby had a little hair net just her size! haha It was a super fun tour, if you are in Utah it's totally worth checking out. We all loaded up on goodies from the candy shop after too ...so that was an extra tasty treat!

We also took our legendary trip to Leatherby's for dinner! It was delicious and such a fun time, like usual. Grandma with her Black and tan!
 Chelsea with her Sundae!
Bryan with his Peanut Butter Cup sundae
Seth got french fries and a HUGE cookie! What a crazy kid ... can you believe he doesn't like ice cream? It's a total bummer because I can't use him as an excise to run out and get a treat!
 Grandma Chris with her Sundae
Grandpa Larsen with his malt ... extra shot of hot fudge and an extra shot of marshmallow!!
Nick with his brownie sundae ... this was the last night he was in town (my mom too) so it was bitter-SWEET!
I guess I didn't get a picture, but this was my treat. Brownie Sundae with caramel sauce instead of hot fudge. Their caramel sauce is AMAZING ... you should try it!
Shelby and Nick ... she was so excited to see him when he was in town, it was pretty cute. She's definitely a daddy's girl (at least when she needs to be!)
It's always fun to do fun things with family in Utah. We were sad to see everyone slowly leave (especially Nick) but we had some other fun adventures once everyone was gone too. more posts to come!

Utah: Family and Everyday Fun

Well, while we've been in Utah we've gotten a chance to see some family and friends that we don't usually get to. Because of Shelby's party we had a bunch of family come out, but we also lucked out to see a few other people just for fun too!

One of those being my brother. Taylor is working in Moab for the summer being a float trip guide! (I don't think it's really "work" for him if you know what I mean ... more like a paid vacation!) Anyway, he got to come up for a few days and spend some time with us so that was fun. Seth had a lot of fun with him and Shelby was pals with him too! He also put together the Lemonade Stand for her party!

Shelby has lately decided she loves the grass. She could sit there happy all day just pulling it out ... it's pretty funny.
We've been enjoying the everyday life in Utah with GnG. We just love getting to hang out and be around each other, Seth and grandpa are good pals!
Grandpa Larsen decided to get some fun pools for the kids to swim in while they were here. Shelby has a cute ladybug pool and Seth has a fancy one with a slide and a basketball hoop. The kids really got a kick out of playing in them!

The best part about it was DAD WAS WITH US! We got to see Nick for a whole week and that was great. We hadn't seen him for over 4 weeks prior to him coming to Utah. Seth was really starting to miss him. It was a little heartbreaking because he'd tell everyone he missed his dad and that he was so worried about his dad in Texas! Poor guy, only a few more weeks and then no more saying goodbye to daddy!

We were also so excited to see my cousin Aubrey. She hadn't met Shelby before and she happened to be in town for the fun party too! Shelby was for some reason not wanting to smile like usual, so I have a ton of hilarious photos of her being a little toot ... (this one is cute though)
... but this one is my favorite ... what a crack up!
Aubrey got this sweet BYU hat and Shelby thought it was too funny!
Another day Seth randomly came downstairs and announced that he was beautiful and had put on my mascara! How on Earth? Anyway, it was pretty funny and he was actually quite proud of himself for figuring it out. LOL .... this picture will haunt him in about 15 years!!!!
As you can see we've been having fun in Utah with lots more fun stories to come!

More Cake for Shelby Girl

So, on Shelby's actual birthday we were at the Farmers Market and no one was in town so we didn't have that amazing of a day. But, we did celebrate with some delicious cupcakes form the sweet tooth fairy! (I miss their cookies so much in Ohio!) Anyway, we got Shelby a cute little cupcake and sang her a song and we she was so excited!

Since she had already done the photo shoot cake smash, she was experienced and knew what shew as getting herself into.
Seth joined in the celebration too with a delicious cupcake of his own!
It didn't take long for Shelby to dig in and be a sugary mess!
But that's the fun of it when you're turning 1!
 Then ....

After her birthday party the next week we let her dig into another cute cake with everyone around. It was so much fun and she LOVED all the attention!

Attention + Sugary mess = Happy Birthday Girl!
She loved everyone singing Happy Birthday so much, we sang it twice!
She was timid for a second with everyone watching ...
But it didn't take long for her to dig in and enjoy the icing!
Being the nice girl that she is, she also was trying to share it with everyone! How thoughtful!
She had a pretty fun birthday for a one year old. She can't wait to do it all again next year! I'm pretty sure she know thinks that the only way to eat cake is to get it all over your face! (I mean that's the way I do it, but I don't know about you guys ...)

Utah Part 1 : Hanging out With GnG

Well, once we FINALLY made it to Utah we immediately started having fun! Seth was ready to "Explore" grandma and grandpa Larsen's back yard and was having a blast climbing over everywhere. Grandpa Larsen was excited to play with the kids and was singing songs with Seth up on the swing!

Chelsea, Bryan and Charlie made up the welcome wagon. Charlie and Shelby were immediate pals!
Grandma and grandpa Larsen got a cool fire pit that we roasted marshmallows in one night and made delicious s'mores! Chelsea was helping Seth roast his just right!
Seth decided he only wanted his s'more uncooked.... what a crazy kid
He could barely get it all in there! But he said it was tasty!
Shelby was all about the graham crackers!
Grandma was a good sport and played "baseball" with Seth one night too! He was using a stick for a bat and who knows what for the ball. It was VERY amusing to watch.

Seth and Charlie were best buddies right away ...or at least Seth thought so! Isn't this a cute picture?

Grandpa has been loving singing silly songs to Shelby!
Shelby went through a phase when she wouldn't put her legs down in the grass and it was cracking us up!
Charlie was all about Shelby right away ... finally someone his size!
Check out this hilarious picture. ... you can see Charlie's long tongue licking Shelby's cheek! SO FUNNY!
We also took our Etsy shop to the Provo Farmers Market! It was so much fun and we'll be there a few more times this summer!

Utah has been fun ... we're getting ready for our next state of fun with family ... but more Utah adventures and picture to come soon!
