I Like Shopping With Dad

We went to Red Robin a week or so ago and Seth was playing with Dad in the games while we waited for our table ... he had a blast!

Lately, we've been out and about with the three of us, instead of usually just me and Seth. Well, it seems that wherever we go Dad find some new things for Seth to play with. So, I guess it's a lot more fun shopping with Dad than Mom ...

Exhibit A: TARGET

Exhibit B: Toys R Us
(we were looking at the cruisers with Chelsea and ended up all over the store)

Anyway, these pictures are all pretty random ... but Seth had a fun time trying out all sorts of new transportation devices, so I thought I'd share.

Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day

We (my sister and I mostly) have decided to try and celebrate obscure holidays this year! We went through the calendar one day when we were bored and found some with promise. Although, we didn't end up going all-out as we wanted to ... we decided to start with Armed Forces Day! Which was on May 16th.
Seth was very festive in his little Navy outfit courtesy of grandma Denzer.

We went to Memorial Park in Provo and had a fun little picnic with quite delicious food! Seth obviously needed to cool off so he was grabbing a drink from the cooler.

Here we are picnicking ...
Dad and Seth after enjoying a yummy lunch! (Nick was also sporting military wear with his West Point shirt on)

Some festive cupcakes provided by Aunt Chelsea.

After eating Seth took a trip over to the play ground and had fun on the swings! He loves them now that he's kind of got them figured out.

Dad playing along too!

Me and Seth went down the slide ... Seth thought it was pretty fun! :)

hangin' out...

Next Up ... Memorial Day.
Now, I realize that this is not what you would call an obscure holiday, it just happens to be in the same post.
Anyway, we went to the cemetery in American Fork (don't worry because first we went to the wrong cemetery ... and yes, I'll take full blame!) to visit the grave of my Grandma and Grandpa Wofford. Cemeteries freaked me out when I was little (and for good reason I think), but it was actually pleasant to visit yesterday. We brought some patriotic flowers to place by the graves and we looked around at some of the other graves and flowers for a little bit.

I know this holiday was originally supposed to remember those people who fought for our country and died in war. Obviously, that has now been adapted to remember everyone we have lost. However, I'm proud to say that both my grandmother and grandfather served in the military. My grandfather was an Officer in the Navy and even survived Pearl Harbor, while my grandmother was in the army and was a nurse for injured soldiers. Both served many years for our country and I am thankful and proud of them for doing so. It was nice that we were able to go visit their graves now, since we probably won't be here for Memorial Day many more times.

In the late afternoon we went up to Salt Lake to my grandparents house and had a fun bbq with family. I hope everyone had a fun 3 day holiday weekend.

Random

These are just a few fun pictures from the last few days. Seth has started to eat some more actual foods lately. No matter what we're eating or even if he just ate 5 seconds prior, he still wants to eat whatever it is we are ... and NOW! Anyway, these are a few shots of Seth eating a hot dog! Nick and Seth had the same thing for lunch the other day and they both thought it was pretty fun!

This is our newest ritual. Seth is getting into a hard stage for me. He pulls everything out of everywhere and is constantly making messes. Over the last few months I've had to come to terms with the fact that my house is messy! I hate it and it drives me nuts. But, between Seth and the fact that our place is too small for us right now, we just don't have enough room.

So, by the time 6 rolls around I'm usually just really sick of cleaning up the same drawer/shelf/etc. contents for the millionth time of the day and we stand out and wait for Daddy to get home. Seth gets to excited to see him, because he hasn't been around a ton lately. (too busy with work)

It's just kind of fun!

Also, to spare myself during the day, I'll give Seth a little juice box! He just loves it. It keeps him quiet and occupied! AMAZING!

Mom's First Mother's Day

So, it was my first official Mother's Day, since last year Seth was still in my belly! Anyway, we really had a fabulous day! My boys spoiled me in the morning. Nick got Seth and played with him in the living room while I got an extra hour of sleep! (AMAZING!) Then, Nick made me breakfast in bed while Seth and I played in our bed for a little bit.

What did I get in my fancy breakfast? Chocolate Chip Waffles with fresh strawberries, whip cream and syrup! Not to mention yummy orange juice too! It was so great ... this my be my new favorite holiday (or at least rank in the top 5 now) What a cute hubby I have. Oh, yeah Seth is a little cute too?!

In the afternoon we took a trip to the famous duck pond with Seth. There were a million ducks there and they've got to be the most fed ducks in the world. Check out Seth's sweet flip flops!

Seth LOVED watching the ducks ... then we started feeding them. I was throwing bread for a few minutes and then gave Seth a piece to see if he would figure it out ...

... NOPE he decided he was hungrier than the ducks!

My cute boys!

There was a mom with about 6 ducklings all taking a little nap together in the sun and we sat Seth close by to he could see them.

... But then he got a little too curious and the momma duck was about to attack him. So, Nick hurried and grabbed him before things got crazy!

Then we saw the other momma duck with her 10 ducklings out on a little stroll of the park together. (aren't you glad we only have to worry about one or a few ducklings at a time?)

Seth just loved watching them ... so we'll for sure have to go back soon!

Then, we headed up to Sandy for a Mother's day dinner prepared by Grandpa Larsen. It was a fun and after dinner we decided to have a little photo shoot ...

Beginning with Dad's photo idea of throwing Seth up and snapping an in-air shot! haha ... yes, this took a few tries!

tip toe in the tulips!

Not so sure about this one?

He hasn't spent a lot of time in the grass yet, so he was kind of scared of it. He would sit there and try to lift both of his legs up so that they wouldn't touch the grass!

Anyway, Mother's Day was a lot of fun. Sorry for the excessive amount of pictures ... we just had to much fun and I'm sure at least the Grandma's will appreciate the photos!

I Can't Believe It's May

So, this is a really random post. i have a lot of random pictures from the last week or so that i needed to get up so here it is.

This is Seth's new favorite thing! He loves Capri Sun ... it's so cute. He'll seriously just sit with one and drink the whole thing in 5 seconds. Nick had one the other day and let Seth have a sip. A few seconds later Nick went to take it back and the whole thing was gone! I guess they are just super tasty ... it's a good thing Mom is such a bargain shopper and has 4 more boxes of them! :)

Cinco de Mayo
So we celebrated Cinco de Mayo and went to Del Taco for lunch with aunt Chelsea. I know, aren't we super festive!? Anyway, this lady at the restaurant gave Seth a balloon and he thought it was pretty amazing! Chelsea tied it to his wrist and he kept it on for most of the afternoon because it was so entertaining!

We stopped by Dad's work to bring him some lunch and Seth played around in the grass for the first time ever!

He was having a lot of fun, but a little unsure about the grass ... i think it was just a little poky for him or something?

Check out the Balloon ...

Seriously? I'm just going to say it, this picture KILLS ME! Isn't he the cutest ever?! Sorry, I know I'm bias but come on ... who couldn't love that happy face?

In other news:
Nick got a new road bike for graduation! He has been pretty excited about it and is riding around like a pro now ... watch out Lance Armstrong!

Check him out ...

This weekend Seth and i went to the park with our neighbors Jen and Rhett. I put Seth in the swing for the first time and he didn't quite know how to react? He was holding on with one hand and looking confused the whole time.

I think this picture is HILARIOUS! They are just staring each other down trying to figure out what they're supposed to be doing? I think Rhett is saying, "Why is your mom taking pictures?" and Seth is saying, "I don't know ... she always takes pictures. back off of my mom!" ha ha (i'm pretty sure that's how it was going down!

But, as always the park was a big hit for Seth!

He LOVES watching all the other kids run around. I'm sure he's thinking, " I can't wait till I can do that!"

Then Saturday night we went to Chili's for a little Mother's Day dinner. It was delicious as always, but Seth is getting to the stage where he's kind of embarrassing to have in restaurants. He screams when we're eating because he wants whatever we're having ... and yells at other people eating, and so on. It's fabulous.

But, he loves having his own little drink now. So, we splurged and let him have some lemonade ... i know I'm a terrible mom letting him have sugar. But, hey ... have you tasted some of that baby food? i figure he needs to let his taste buds know there's more adventure out there in the future!

So, we got those little dessert shots and Seth HAD TO have a bite! So, this was the result ... funniest picture I've seen in a while. haha ... still laughing when I see it.
Here are a few videos:

First, Seth at the park, not quite sure about what he's supposed to do on the swings.

Second, Seth's new funny way of expressing himself. I think it must be natural for boys!

I know this was a random post, but oh well! I'm going to try and post up our Mother's Day pictures and adventure. (That is if Seth lets me do it)
