Seth's First Time Bowling

This week for playgroup we went bowling. It was Seth's first time and I didn't really know what to expect. He is currently in the phase of being a crazy 2 year old. I never know if he's going to a nice boy and stay with me, or be crazy and make me chase him all over the place. Well, we had a little bit of both on this adventure!

When we first got there, Seth went crazy! He was running everywhere saying, "We're Bowling! We're Bowling!" We eventually got checked in with our other friends and Seth even got some sweet bowling shoes. He thought they were pretty cool.
The bowling balls were also pretty exciting!

Seth's friend Marin was wanting a photo shoot too! :) She was cracking me up. She started posing as soon as I pulled out my camera. A girl after my own heart!

The first time Seth tried to bowl he ended up face firs tin the lane. (He traveled with the ball a little too far) Luckily he thought it was funny, not dramatic!

But after a few times we sort of got the hang of it.

Needless to say it took a while for all the kids bowling balls to make it to the pins ...

For a while Seth was sitting patiently waiting for it to be his turn. He was pretty intrigued by how the whole thing worked...

But you guessed it. That didn't last long at all! Before we knew it all the kids were running around crazy and trying to run on the lanes, push all the buttons on the little score booth things, you name it.

But we had a fun time and Seth is ready to go back again soon. Yay for playgroup and a fun INDOOR activity!

Just if you were wondering we're supposed to get 8 inches of snow on Wednesday! Yep, I better make sure my cupboards and refrigerator are stocked ...because YOU KNOW I won't be heading outside for a while after that!

Baby, Baby, Baby

Well, today was the big day. We went to the ultrasound today and after the longest wait ever, the tech finally told us we're going to have a

Baby Girl!

We're so excited. I can't wait to go buy some cute little dresses and pick out some fun pink things! Everything looks great with the baby. The due date is the same and she looks healthy and right on track! I'm happy that my poll turned out to be correct!

The due date is June 9th and I'm so excited. I cried when the lady told me she was a girl!

Seth was really concerned that he was going to get the "Gooo" on him that was on my belly during the ultrasound. He also thought there were multiple babies in there because of all the pictures on the screen so he kept saying, "We don't want all those babies ... we only want one!" haha! What a character.

Seth was right all along about his baby sister!

( Think Pink )

Snow Days and Baby Denzer #2

Well, we are surviving the cold here in Ohio ... barely. This Saturday we woke up to the toilet water frozen and a 3 inch icicle hanging from our faucet in the downstairs bathroom!!!! It's crazy. The good part (for Seth anyway) is all the snow. At least when it snows, it warms up a bit. So, Seth has been having fun playing out in the snow. These are some shots of the first time he'd been out in it. Although, he's been around snow he's never really played in it before, so this was a real fun thing for him!

Nick and Seth all bundled up to go outside!

Seth really tried hard to help Nick out with the shoveling.

He was having a blast running around discovering the snow.

I guess he saw on Special Agent OSO how to make snow angels. SO, he really wanted to do that with Nick!

Check out the gloves ... I think we went through 3 pair just in this outing. I guess I need to get him some water proof ones ... and some snow boots at that!

He was trying really hard to run in the snow, but it was proving to be a little challenging so Nick gave him a hand and he couldn't stop laughing!

Look at those rosy cheeks! I could just kiss them all day! :)

He then found his beach toys in the garage and decided to fill up his sand bucket with snow and build snow castles.

Here he is inside de-thawing! I wasn't sure we were ever going to convince him it was time to come in. What is it about kids and never getting cold? Too much fun to worry about anything else I guess.

Playing out in the snow is Seth's new favorite and it looks like he'll be doing it for a while. It's been snowing about every other day and the forecast for the next 10 days looks like a lot more snow. Hopefully we can stay warm!

Everyone keeps asking me when the big Ultrasound day is. Well, it's tomorrow! So, if you haven't voted in our poll (top right of the blog) vote! It's tomorrow afternoon that we finally find out. I can't wait to know. Then we can start thinking of names, picking out fun baby things and all the fun stuff. I've finally started feeling pretty well for a week or so now, so I'm pretty excited to move on to the "fun" part! I'm dying waiting until tomorrow ... but, I just have to keep myself busy for another day! (I think I can, I think I can!)

Wish us luck!

Chicago, Chicago, That Toddling Town ...

In the fall, I found out that Michael Buble was adding some US tour dates around the holidays and my sister and I started joking about how much fun it'd be to go see him again. Yes, we've already seen this tour, but it was just an idea. Anyway, we started half joking looking into tickets, airfare, etc. One day we decided, why not?...lets go for it! We ended up heading to Chicago at the beginning on December for a fun girls weekend. It turned out to be so much fun and exactly what I needed!

So, although this is out of order, this is our fun sisters weekend in Chicago the first weekend in December!

We walked around the city the first night we were there and froze our butts off! It was so so cold. Everyone knows I'm a fare-weather fan of EVERYTHING, but it was worth it. Being out with out having to worry about anything else held me over ... at least for a while.

We checked out the American Girl store. I'm pretty sure we were in there for over an hour ... it was so much fun. Someday, when we both have little girls we'll head back and do the tea party with our girls and their dolls! (yay!)

We also headed over to the trendy "Sprinkles" Cupcakes shop and grabbed ourselves a yummy snap for later. Chelsea is the self acclaimed cupcake addict ... so we had to make sure and stop by!

Here's our loot ... 2 chocolate peppermint, one double chocolate, and one strawberry! Delicious!

We immediately became familiar with the 'L'. We took it in and out of the city each day since we stayed closer to the hotel and the concert. It was kind of fun to see the city and chat (not to mention we saw some interesting people)

The famous store windows at Macy's were a fun catch as well ... I love any city during the holidays. It's so much fun and so pretty seeing all the lights and decorations up!

Our second day in the city it was a crazy blizzard! We were up and in the city pretty early and were a few of the first ones out there. So we snagged some sweet pictures!

Yes, we took crazy pictures in the Bean reflection!

Here I am ... a tourist sell-out! (Isn't that what you're supposed to do on vacation?)

It was freezing and we were wet so we stopped in a cute Italian place for breakfast and it was delicious. Chelsea had a HUGE breakfast sandwich on a Crescent and I went with a yummy fritatta!

Then, we headed back to our hotel and over to our first show of the day! Last minute we ended up getting cheap tickets to see Legally Blonde the Musical. It was a cute show, and we had amazing seats!

Sisters, sisters ...

We had a treacherous trip home (we decided to walk and immediately regretted it ... we were soaking wet by the time we made it back) and rewarded ourselves with a famous Chicago Pizza. Don't worry, it was so good we ate the leftovers for breakfast in the morning!

Next up was the main event ... Michael Buble!

My oldest BFF Lindsey and her friend Erin ended up coming out for her birthday weekend. We met up and headed to the show together. We had a crazy cab ride over, that none of us will forget!!
Here we are ... super excited!

The man himself ...

Seriously, if you ever have the chance (and you like MB, of course) go see him in concert. He's AMAZING!!!! So much better LIVE and he puts on a great show!! Believe me, I don't lie!

It was a quick trip there and back. Nick's dad came up to watch Seth so Nick could study for finals. It turned out to be perfect. Just what I needed. I'm lucky to have been able to do it and thankful to Nick to telling me to go for it! It was nice to get away for a few days. I think this is the kind of thing that makes you a better mom ... sometimes we need breaks too, right? That being said ...

It was the first time I'd been away from Seth for more than a few hours, so it was a little weird. I bought him a fun snow globe that was super tiny and the stupid TSA confiscated it from me saying there was no way to check to see if it was a bomb. I was mad and at that moment I started breaking down. By the time I made it to my gate I was in tears and wanted to be home. I missed my cute little Seth, I missed Nick and I just wanted to be home. Cheesy? Absolutely! Embarrassing? Yes! Especially at the time when people were staring at me wondering if I was loosing my mind! But, oh well ... such is the life of a mom (and a pregnant one at that!)

Thanks for a fun trip Chels

Kansas Part 2 : The Presidential Treatment

We made it back to Kansas with out any drama on the road. It was a little depressing getting back into the cold Midwestern climate, but we knew it was coming and enjoyed the warmth while we could.

Chelsea and Bryan were out as well because we were all celebrating my mom's birthday. Nick has been wanting to check out some of the touristy, historical things Kansas City has to offer, so this trip we decided to check one of them off the list. We headed to President Truman's Presidential Library in Independence.

Can you tell if Nick was having a good time ...?

Here he is in the Oval Office

Posing like Washington
Chillin with Truman himself

And even getting into the exhibit, by putting on a jacket in the children's "Dress Like the Truman's" part of the museum.

Yes, Nick had a good time checking it all out and gleaning new information! LOL

I don't know if you can read this or not, but below is a letter that was at the exhibit. I found it really interesting. It's about Socialized Medicine and how the people are not interested. Isn't it interesting how some issues can come full circle? There was also another letter about people unhappy that the White House was being remodeled during a time when the country had little provisions and hard times. The end of the letter said something like, if the Government is going to spend money on petty things like this at a time of need, who knows what unnecessary projects it will start to through tax payer dollar towards. I guess times don't change all that much?

The Exhibit was kind of cracking us up as we walked through it. I guess the people in charge of it didn't get the memo that this was Truman's Library and they were supposed to make him look good. (they're PR was struggling majorly) Throughout the whole exhibit, including the movie there were tons of quote and stories about him that basically make the viewer conclude that Truman was a crappy president. It was quite hilarious actually. There was even a purple heart with a note displayed that were found in his desk together. The letter was from a parent of a soldier whose son was killed in the war. He was saying he wanted to give it back because he didn't agree with the war and didn't think his son deserved to die in it. Also he said he regretted that president Truman's daughter didn't go through the same experience.
I mean pretty harsh!

Anyway, I'm not such a fan myself of a lot of the things Truman did, but maybe the people putting together his memoir museum should have been? Ya think?

Anyway, off my political soap box ...

We were all in town to celebrate my mom's 39th Birthday! :)
We went down to the Plaza and had dinner at Houston's. It was delicious and always a crowd-pleaser with their delicious entrees. Seth had a fun time helping her open presents, after all at this point he was a pro.

However, the presents weren't as fun for him once they were opened this time around.
The Newlyweds

My mom ordered a cake from Cold Stone. It was good and everything. (her favorite mint ice cream) But, I wanted you to see how LAME her cake was. I mean they didn't even get Happy Birthday written on it?! WHAT???? If I would have looked at the cake before it was time to eat it, I would have whipped up some icing and written it on myself ... I mean it is a birthday cake after all.

Seth helped Grandma blow out the candles too!

He was pretty excited about eating the cake ... until he took a bite and realized it was an ice cream cake. What kind of crazy kid doesn't like ice cream?

It was fun to be all together for Mom's birthday!

We had a fun last few days in Kansas before heading back to Ohio.

Nick continued the male tradition of watching all 3 of the Lord of The Rings during Christmas ... by HIMSELF! (I guess he's really committed to keeping that tradition alive) It wasn't as fun without Taylor and Al there to keep it going. But, Seth was watching the end of the 3rd movie and Nick was telling him all the characters names. He showed him "Gandolf the White" to which Seth replied ...."And Santa Clause is Gandolf the Red!" LOL I don't know how I get anything done with these hilarious comments all day!

Yeah, for Christmas break!
