Well, Thanksgiving was great. We all ate WAY too much food and enjoyed the weekend together as a family. One thing I like about holidays is having everyone do a little something and together you have a great meal. Nick decided to be creative with his pie making skills this year and came up with a cherry pie looking like this.

Irony: a red cherry pie with a Cougar Y on it. I think there's a joke there involving the game, but I can't come up with it at the moment. (like the kid on community last night...
haha! I hope at least one person who reads this watches that show).

I went a little more traditional with a
Paula Dean Apple Pie. It was yummy! :)

Saturday morning we all headed out to
"The Herd" aka my dad's property. We decided it would be fun to shop down our own Christmas tree this year. Before heading up the mountain Seth made friends with
our future dinner.

We rode around on the 4-wheelers and eventually took three of them up the mountain and found a Christmas tree. Seth was such a crack up ... he LOVED the 4-wheelers and would be so mad at us when we took him off. He kept wanting to drive around with us. He had a blast out there!
He is such a boy!

All "the kids" took the 4-wheelers up in search of the perfect tree and Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Al, and Seth stayed down and built a fire. Apparently, Seth thought this was amazing and kept looking around for sticks to bring to Grandpa and Alan to put in the fire. He had a blast out there!
Maybe I should submit this picture to
"Awkward Family Photos" haha .... it's funny!

When we came back from finding the tree, Seth started crying immediately when he saw me. At first I thought it was because he was
mad we left him (which he does frequently) but, then we realized he was
mad that he didn't get to go on the 4-wheeler. We set him on it and from that point on was happy as a lark.

Nick, Taylor and Carly headed of the the
BYU v. Utah game while the rest of us parted ways. Grandma, Grandpa, Alan, Seth and I headed back to my place to set up the tree. Seth was a big help and wanted to use tools just like the big boys!

Well, here is the tree with lights, and star and our home made popcorn-cranberry garland. I think it turned out looking pretty good.

I didn't know if I was going to like it because it's not what
I'm used to. But, because it's not so bushy, you can actually see the ornaments hanging and I think it looks really pretty! Here it is as good as I could get with the lights off and everything.

Christmas is fun and I've been having a ball Decking the Halls this year. Since we have a lot more room than we have since we got married I guess I feel like I can actually do some fun things as far as decorating goes. I want to do some fun
crafty things but don't have any good ideas?
Any thoughts?Hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving and got to spend time with loved ones!
