WoRsT wEeK eVeR!

All day Monday, Seth was acting really tired and whiny. He fell asleep almost 3 hours earlier than his normal bedtime. He woke up at around 11:00pm and when I went to get him he was BURNING UP! He was super hot and I being a first time (don't know what to freak out about an what not to) mom, i freaked out. His temp was pretty high, (103.6) and I called the after hours nurse from our pediatricians office. She told us to give him a luke-warm bath and keep on top of Tylenol. We tried all this and really nothing worked.

He wouldn't sleep unless he was next to me, which meant I couldn't sleep! It was awful! He barely slept all night and was just so sick. Poor little guy! The next day was just terrible ... he was so upset and didn't feel good! Kill me!!!! Sick babies are seriously the worst! This is was the poor guy looked like all day. He barely smiled and was just so pathetic!

.. And so were mom and dad! I know we are so hottttt, you are all jealous. You too could get this look with no sleep and a sick child rolling around between you!
I hate that the little guy just couldn't tell me what hurt or what I could do. You can see his Rosy cheeks and bright red lips in this picture. We took him to the Dr and he just had a virus. (no strep) which was good, but i was kind of hoping for an antibiotic.
Every now and then a smile came out! He was still about to get into trouble while not feeling well.
Notice all the things he pulled out and knocked over around him.
The only fun part about being sick for Seth was that he got to take a few baths a day. It cooled him down a little and he had fun splashing around and playing. Those were the biggest smiles of the week!
Also, while sick, Seth learned to pull himself up and stand. And now he does it on EVERYTHING! This was a runaway diaper change! He's pretty proud of himself. He'll pull himself up on anything, the wall, me, chairs ... you name it.
Finally after a whole week of fever and no sleeping. (not to mention the fact that Seth got me sick too!) We finally got back to normal this weekend. And not a minute too soon. I missed my happy little boy and I was dying for a good nights sleep! (Seth slept with us most of the week).
Mommy and Seth are back to normal and had a fun weekend hanging out with friends and daddy! Here we are healthy and happy.
We got some ice cream after dinner with our friends Katie and Chris last night. Seth really wanted a few bites ...
Yummy, yummy!
However, whenever I took a bite for myself Seth would throw a tantrum and cry ACTUAL TEARS!!! What a spoiled little boy ... already!
One the ice cream made it to his mouth all was well!

Needless to say this was a TERRIBLE week for all of us and I'm so glad it's over and we're all back to normal! I hope we can make a long stretch of time before Seth find himself sick again ...

A day at the park ...

Friday was such a nice day! We went on a little family walk over to the park by our apartment and took Seth to the park for the first time! It was so much fun. Seth was a little overwhelmed at first, seeing all the kids running around and playing. Then he thought it was so much fun. Dad took him down the slide ...
...and on the swings.
Then they went in the cool tunnel slide. I honestly didn't think Nick was going to fit in there ... luckily I didn't have to perform emergency slide-ectomy! :)
They made it out and Seth was a little confused, but he thought it was fun!

What a big boy playing at the park!
Then we tried to have him grab a hold on the monkey bars. It only worked for a second ...
He kept trying to chew on the bars ... sick!
Then Seth and I went down a slide too ...

This was our attempt to take a picture of ourselves with the playground in the background ... hey it kind of worked?

Seth loved riding around in his stroller. The walk to the park is only about 5 minutes so it was good exercise in the warm weather.
But 5 minutes is 5 minutes ... Seth conked out on the way home!
He had fun and was super worn out by the end of the day. He wouldn't go to bed that night until pretty late ... but he slept almost all the way through the night. I don't know if it's his teeth coming in or what? But, he just won't sleep these days ... any tips?Anyway, the Park was fun and we're looking forward to being here for a least a little while in the summer so that we can walk over and play and the park close to us. I'm sure Seth will love it even more once he starts running around.
Here is a little video of Seth. Yesterday he started making "raspberry" (where did that term come from anyway?) noises. He only does it once and not as loud as he was doing it ... but it's still pretty funny.

I Scream, You Scream ... Seth Screams for Ice Cream!

Seth and I had to go pick up aunt Chelsea from campus the other day because her feet hurt! (haha ... no it was actually legit, but that sounded funny when typing it) Anyway, we got ready and drove up to campus. It was so nice out and I had been craving ice cream. So, we stopped in Baskin Robins and got a scoop. The lady there was telling us about some new "blizzard" type item and asked if we wanted to try the soft serve. We thought it was kind of weird because doesn't all soft serve pretty much taste the same? Anyway, she gave us a ton. Seth started grabbing at mine so I decided to let him have a few bites. He LOVED it! We sat down and let him have a few more bites.

It was a little messy but worth it ... he was soooo happy! He couldn't get enough of it. At the bottom is a video of him eating ice cream. I also think he liked it because it was cold on his poor gums! (when are those teeth going to finally come in?)
Another random dad idea shot: Seth in his cacoon!

Seth's First Baseball Game

Seth attended his first baseball game last week. We went to cheer on the cougars. They played Utah and it was packed! I mean, I've never seen that stadium even partially full ... and i think everyone was shocked. They had free hot dogs and drinks with your student ID (so that could have been the drawl).
We were sitting by 3rd base and Seth was loving having his sunglasses on! He was so cute even the camera guy thought so, and put him on TV at least 4 times! What a stud! He was having so much fun seeing all the people and watching the game.

Aunt Chelsea made the adventure too ... it's never a party with out her!

Mommy and Seth!
Eventually the sun started going down and it was pretty windy so we had to leave after a few innings because Seth was getting chilly! He had so much fun and we'll definitely be hitting up some more games ... I mean Seth is going to be a future player!

By the way: we played Utah and they scored 7 runs in the first inning. It was pretty ridiculous and embarrassing! However, BYU did eventually try and catch up. BYU lost 13-15. The beginning was disastrous!

Random laughs from the last few weeks

So, these are just a bunch of random pictures from the last little while. Most are of Seth being crazy or us (usually Nick) making him hilarious! This top picture was when we were waiting in the park and wait to pick up Nick's parents from the airport a few weeks ago!
These two are Seth's new routine when going out to eat anywhere. He squocks because he wants to be eating whenever we are. Also he turns completely around in the high chair to scream and stare at whoever is lucky enough to sit behind him! I'm sure people love it .... in fact yesterday I ate at Olive Garden for lunch and this old lady actually kept turning around and giving me the meanest look whenever Seth made any sort of sound. So, you know me, I can be fiesty ... finally I just gave it right back to her; she looked shocked and never turned around again.

haha ... don't really know what to say about these pictures ... they are just pretty funny. And yes, this was Nick's idea.

...So was this! Seth has two heads ... :)

Seth trying to eat the milk at the grocery store. He loves sitting in the front and getting to watch everybody around!
I'm sorry Mario ... but your Princess is in another castle! Another of dad's plans!

Last Sunday a friend of mine from BYU (who moved to Arizona a few years ago) was up in Utah for the weekend and stopped by. It was so much fun to see Cami and her cute little girl Brooklynn. It was pretty wierd seeing each other all grown up with babies now ... crazy how time flies!

Last weekend we went to a baseball card show. I know, everyone is jealous! Anyway, it was actually pretty fun. Nick got a grab bag of baseball cards and Seth got a hold of this one. Well, actually Nick already had it and Seth kept trying to get some of his other ones, so he let him play with this one.

We contemplated photo shopping a Mickey Mantle card into these pictures to freak avid baseball fans out ... but i have no idea how to do that! Maybe another day.
This is a little video of Seth in the tub. He's been really loveing the bath more and more. He loves to splash and play with his water friends! Well, there are the radom photos for today!
