I cannot believe an entire year has gone by so fast! We celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday. We couldn't really do much because we could potentially have a baby any day. so we went up to Salt Lake and had a fun little weekend there.
We saw Get Smart at the Gateway Theaters! Seriously, Nick and I were both laughing so hard ... you should definitely go see it!
Then Nick ran into Sharpay and just HAD to get his picture taken with her. He found it pretty amusing ... as you can tell!
We checked into the Downtown Marriott and got changed. Nick made reservations for us to eat the the Roof, on top of the Joseph Smith Building. The food was great and we both ate tons of desserts ... that's the best part of a buffet right? It was a beautiful view and we had a good time!
Yes, I do look huge ... but we needed at least one picture to remember our first anniversary. I can't believe we only have about two weeks left. We had a few close calls during dinner and we both thought there might be a chance that we'd have the baby last night. I kept being mid bite and loose my breath from a contraction. It's making me very nervous for the real deal ... Nick was worried he wasn't going to get to eat dessert ... he kept asking me to hold him in until he could eat all the dessert he wanted! haha :)
Once we finally made it back to the hotel from dinner we snapped one last picture to remember the day! It was only a few blocks but being as pregnant as i am, it seemed like the longest walk of my life! I was happy to get in my pj's and finally relax!
It's hard to believe that a year ago we were married in Nauvoo! It was a perfect day and we were so lucky to have so many friends and family to share it with. It's been a crazy year for us ... and an even crazier one is beginning!

Baby's Room
Okay, so I've been stressing out over the fact that baby Denzer could arrive at any time now! So, the past few weeks I've been ordering a million things online, tracking packages like I work for Fed Ex and frantically trying to get things set up and such when I have days off of work.
Now that I only have 4 more days of work (two this week and two next week) I've calmed down because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as my job goes. Anyway, people have been asking to see pictures of the nursery and although it's not 100% finished here is what we've got. Obviously this is the crib and crib set ... I'm really happy with it. We only saw it online because it's been sold out everywhere!
I've also had a random itch to be crafty in the babies room too! So, here are a few projects that I've been working on. I decorated a bulletin board so we can eventually put pictures and things on it.
I also painted a few picture frames in the matching colors. I had a few cards from showers and things that were just so cute that I thought they'd make cute pictures for the walls. That way for now they are way cute, and later on I can put baby pictures or other pictures in them.

And this is the changing table. It will eventually have a changing pad cover and diaper holder that match the "pop star" crib set. Since they've been out of stock of everything in the whole set they are hard to track down. My mom found the remaining items though (those two and a lamp and a few other accessories) in Kansas; so, she's going to be bringing them out in a few weeks when she comes for baby time! :)
I also painted the star hooks above the changing table too. Who knows why I one day decided to be crafty ... but it was fun at least. I'm also working on one last project that is the trendy "hanging wall letters" with our babies top secret name. His name will be spelled out over the crib eventually. I'm probably going to finish them up next week and then we'll wait until he comes home to put them up because I'm really adamant about keeping his name a secret. I just think there should be some type of surprise for everyone.
Anyway, sorry this post is really long with boring explanations ... but tell me what you think. I will admit that once I actually started setting up the baby room everything became so real to me. Now when Nick and I see the crib and other baby things in the nursery we just think "oh my gosh ... this is really happening!" But, we can't wait to meet baby Denzer!

Nick's 5K and Strawberry Days!
Nick ran a 5K last weekend in Provo. His dad was in town and took the picture that was obviously candid! It was a run for domestic abuse or something. Anyway, Nick ran the same one last year and thought he'd do it again this summer. Also featured are the lovely newlywed couple Joey and Katie Rich on a romantic run themselves! :) Kind of late getting this picture up, but oh well?
This past weekend we went to Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove! We thought we'd check it out and at least catch a glimpse of some "carnies." I don't know where these carnival people come from, but there are definitely some interesting people around these types of events.
Katie informed me Friday night that they indeed had funnel cakes at the festival! Those of you who don't know, I haven't had many craving at all while being pregnant ... but for the last 6 weeks or so I've really been craving Funnel Cake!
So I finally got my hands on some yummy, powdered sugary, funnel cake! Nick went the more healthy route with some strawberries and cream ... good for him. We both look pretty ridiculous in this picture ...
Chelsea came along with us to check out the fun too. She filled another carnival food classic with her cotton candy choice. It was fun, but really all we did was show up to eat and stare at people for a little bit before heading out. But, in my defense we did walk quite a way and it was 97 degrees ... so what do you expect from someone whose in her last few weeks of pregnancy!?

Graduation Trip Part Three: Baltimore
Our trip from Kansas to Maryland was pretty jammed packed with events and activities. For our last day in Maryland we decided to head into Baltimore to go to the Aquarium! I've been wanting to go to one for over a year and am always talking about it. When we found out there was one in Baltimore Nick decided he would take me. :)
Here's Nick in front of a sweet coast guard boat that was just chillin' on the pier as we walked over to the Aquarium. Because it was Memorial Day weekend everything was pretty crowded; the aquarium only allows a certain number of people to be admitted at a given time. So, we realized we were going to have to purchase tickets for the afternoon and then come back to see the Feeshy!! (as I kept calling them ... hehehe)
We finally got in and it was crazy busy ... there were all kinds of "interesting" people around, not to mention some lovely body odors to go along with our "Feeshy" experience. Anyway, one part was the rain forest and it was pretty cool. We look ridiculous and this is how pictures come out when you're taking them of yourselves.
We purchased the "full experience" tickets, which included a 4D movie and tickets to the dolphin show ... go big or go home I always say. So, this is me and Nick goofing around in line waiting for the people to let us into the movie. It was pretty entertaining ... all the little kids were crying and Nick and I were just laughing the whole time. Except when they had a snakes surround you and then something jabbed you in the back from out of the seat ... yes, I joined the kids and screamed out loud!
The Dolphin show was fun too! I decided in my next life maybe I'll be a Dolphin trainer! Here are a few pictures of the crazy dolphins and kind of a lame video, but hey it's all I got! :) (check out the dolphin carrying the rubber frog!
Later than night Danika took us into Annapolis and we went to Buddy's, which was a great crab place! I got some amazing crab soup and nick went for a crab cake melt! It was delicious. It was really fun to be in the town at night and see all the midshipmen walking around in their uniforms and all the excitement on the pier. They had boats and yachts that would dock in the middle and then just go get a bite for dinner or whatever ... someday, right?
I pretty much look like a walrus in this one ... seriously, no one dispute me on this one!
Last, but not least we stopped by a little candy/fudge store and got a few treats. I got a delicious caramel apple and Nick and Danika got caramel covered rice krispies that were actually really good!
Although, it was a crazy trip we really had a good time. Our last hurray as a married couple with out kids. It was fun to spend some time with both of our families before heading back to finish up the last few weeks of pregnancy and then start a huge new chapter of our lives. :)

Graduation Trip Part Two: Maryland
So, the second part of our trip began similarly to the trip to Kansas. We flew into D.C. to find that my suit case had been sent to Chicago! Yes, I'm being serious! After calling a bunch of ridiculous people we finally got the bag driven out to us the next day and all was well! Oh, my goodness American Airlines really out did themselves for us this trip!
This was all the midshipmen doing their meal time drill? I don't remember what it is officially called, but they line up and march into the eating hall. It was neat to see them all in uniform.
The next day we got to go to the base and see the Blue Angels. They were so cool! It was amazing to see them do all their "tricks" with perfect precision. Below is a sweet video of them. It was a very entertaining show and Nick decided that when he grows up he wants to be a Blue Angel ... or maybe our son should be one?! :)
We got to go to this graduation ball! I didn't really know what to expect, but it ended up being one of my favorite things. No, I didn't realize how much of a cow I looked like until I saw these pictures, but we still had a great time.
It felt like I was in a film from the 1940's. All the midshipmen were dressed in their uniforms and it seemed like a dance in war time or something. It was kind of fun! Nick and I danced and had a good time.
Seeing all the navy uniforms made Nick really want to be a Jag after law school so that he can wear a cool uniform and look studly! Then I could really feel like I'm in the 40's with my man in uniform at a ball! haha ... yes, I know I'm ridiculous.
Another event we went to was the parade. Basically all of the students march and show their skills and uniforms. Certain companies are honored for different things. Danika's company had the best rankings as far as academics and athletics so they were honored as well. In this picture she is the second from the right in the front row.
We then had the actual graduation ceremony. It was a long afternoon with 1060 graduates! It was hot and sunny, but I'm so glad we got to be there. It was a really neat experience to see the hats flying and all the proud navy parents .. including Nick's parents. Below is a really neat clip of the final seconds of the ceremony when the hats fly in the air!
We had a great time with Nick's family, celebrating Danika's Graduation. Because this post was getting long I'm going to actually make a third one of our trip into Baltimore ... So if anyone cares I'll probably put that up in the next few days!
