A Day at Deanna Rose

The same day we got Seth's haircut we had a few other activities planned. We went to Deanne Rose, which is a petting zoo with farm animals and such. As a kid we always went there a few times each summer. Now it's gotten all cute and is expanding quite a bit from when we were young. It was pretty fun taking Seth around to places I visited growing up!

I'm Wishing ... I'm Wishing ... For The One I Love

There's Nick, Grandpa and Seth feeding the crazy Japanese Coy. Seth thought it was pretty fun!

Check out this huge turtle ...

There's Seth waving at you.

Chelsea and grandma being H-O-T!

Oh, how cute is the little Denzer family?

Daddy and Seth being attacked by the Huge goats! Seth wasn't quite sure what to think of them at this point?

Here's Seth feeding them. A minute later one kind of nibbled on his finger and it really freaked him out ... but lets be honest it was kind of funny.

These goats were a little better sized for Seth ... he started liking them at this point.

Grandpa Wofford taming the goats with his old school techniques he learned as a boy! haha ... really sometime you should ask him to do his goat noises ... pretty hilarious!

Seth petting a better tamed sheep that was just chillin' in the shade.

Posing with this crazy one. It was one of those ones with a rad beard ... he looked like a cartoon character or one of Charlotte's web friends.

Seth in the kid garden as a caterpillar ...

A Butterfly ...

And the whole family of flowers! (yes we are serious about taking this picture)

There was a little school house we ran to for some AC. Seth sat in one of the small desks in the front ... cute! One day he'll be headed off to kindergarten to a real school (before I know it!)
The Denzer Dairy Farmers
I look pretty hot ... Nick on the other hand is a hard-core dairy farmer!

They had a little dairy farm exhibit that was so cute. There were a few dairy cows in there and Seth loved the baby ones! He kept petting them and laughing. I'm pretty sure he's going to end up being a farmer.

Back in the saddle again...

The Denzer cowboys!

It was freaking hot the day we went and we grabbed some lemonade. Seth drank more than half on Nick's ... poor guy was so thirsty (that and the sweet lemonade probably tasted AMAZING!)
We watched a sweet movie about dairy farms (again enjoying the AC)

Seth is a dairy farmer - Strong and Gentle!

yes, more goats. These were the actual baby goats and you could feed them bottles. We got one and Nick and Seth went for it. Those goats are super crazy!

Seth was a little nervous about them and also confused as to why we had a bottle that we weren't feeding him, but these crazy goats!

Seth trying to help dad feeding the babies.

Nick the goat whisperer

Look how crazy these things were ... their eyes are just creepy!

Later that night we went out to the Osawatmie, Kansas airport to this BBQ restaurant my dad and his friend Mark discovered. It's called We Be Smokin' and it is freaking good! We've been hearing about it for a while now and really wanted to try it out so it went on the infamous calendar and we headed out there. We had baby back ribs with a sweet honey glaze, the best baked beans I've had in a long time and some crazy good fried green beans! (Along with about 20 pounds of other good food)

Here we are stuffed full and glad we made the treck to the little airport. I guess some people actually fly their little planes in there just to eat at this little hole in the wall ... it's that good folks!

Good day, good fun, good food ... a sucess in my book!

Seth's First Haircut

Seth's hair has been getting long and crazy for a little while now and I knew I needed to get it cut. However, I was scared to do it myself. I kept picturing a terrible bowl cut or something! I kept putting it off. In Kansas we decided to take care of the long hair. It was hanging over Seth's eyes and looking pretty scrappy.

Before:

We found a cute little kid hair cut place and decided to take Seth there. He got to sit in a sweet car and play while he was getting snipped. This place was so cool. the kids on the other side of him were probably 7 or 8 and they were playing play station games while getting their hair cut.

Also, they had pedicures and manicures for little girls. HOW CUTE IS THAT? They had little chairs in the back all set up like a little princess's fantasy! I would have LOVED that when I was little. They had a DIVA PACKAGE where you could get your mani, pedi, and your hair done. (Complete with an entire wall of adorable bows you could pick out to put in your cute new hair do!) Seriously, i better have GIRL at some point ... what will I do if I can't take my little girl to do fun things like this?

Back to the real story ... Seth thought it was pretty fun to be in the car and get to wear a crazy cape too!

He was such a good boy while getting his hair cut. he stayed pretty still for most of the time and didn't cry or even get scared at all!

At some point he did decide he wanted to stand up while getting his hair done though.

So he jacked a comb and started to play with that ... how entertaining right?

There's grandma keeping him amused for the time being.

AFTER:

How handsome does he look? What a little man! After getting his hair cut, it finally started dawning on me and Nick that Seth was going to be a year so soon. He looked like a little boy now, no more baby Seth. Sad, but so much fun at the same time.

There's hairy Daddy with the new haircut boy.

After watching the lady cut Seth's hair I think I can probably keep it up and do it myself, at least for a while. But, I'm glad I took him in so that I could see how to go about the hair cut. (Also, I didn't want to embarrass him in front of all his friends at his birthday party a few days later)

Bath Time and Dinosaurs in KCK

While we were in Kansas we did a million things. I, being the "lets make a plan" girl had everyone tell me what they wanted to do while we were all home together. Then I made a calendar and we filled it in so that we would get everything in. I got many laughs from this ... but hey, we all did EVERYTHING we wanted and then some!

Seth had fun taking baths in grandma's big bath tub!

His bath robe is obviously getting a little too short these days ....

We went down to the Legends shopping center in Kansas City and ate lunch at this fun Dinosaur restaurant. Think rain forest cafe, but pre-historic! Every 15 minutes a meteor shower comes through and it's kind of fun! It was pretty fun and Seth got a kick out of all the dinosaurs and things around us.

Here's grandma, grandpa and aunt Chelsea waiting for lunch.

Nick and Seth by the sweet fish tank!

Me and Seth with a crazy dinosaur.

Seth was getting attacked by this crazy fool.

Yummy french fries!

Here's the whole crew. the dinosaur behind us (of which you cannot see his head) got really annoying. About every 5 minutes he started moving and moaning (who knew dinosaurs moaned?) Anyway, it was funny at first but then really annoying!

Strike a pose!

Grandpa and Seth!

Here we are with a triceratops. Which while eating my mom said used to be my nick name ... I'm pretty sure she made that up because I've never been called tri-sarah-tops in my life ... by ANYONE????

AHHHHH! Seth was almost this guy's lunch!

Then we went on to do some shopping ... Seth fell asleep pretty fast! But, this was after he some how grabbed my drink from the top of the stroller and dumped it all over himself ... poor guy got so scared! But, lets be honest it was pretty funny :) and luckily I had an extra change of clothes with me.

Another fun day out and about with everyone.
