So Nick and I got back from our crazy graduation trip last Sunday and I'm finally getting some time to post about it. It was a lot of fun and great to see the family, especially before we have the baby! But, it was one of those vacations that you need a vacation to recover from. Because we had two graduations to attend and all the activities that they entail, it was a little hectic ... especially being pregnant! So here is part one of the adventure:
So, we left for Kansas and had a few hour lay-over that turned into forever in Dallas; the weather was rainy and kind of crazy. Anyway, apparently the bagger people decided to leave our luggage out in the rain for the 4 hours we were in Dallas. All of my new nice clothes that I had just purchased 2 days before the trip, especially for the trip, we ruined because my black suit case bled through! Not to mention nick had several things ruined as well! It was a nightmare. Yes, they are going to reimburse us for everything, but it was still annoying that we had to re-purchase everything that we just bought!
My neighbor ladies through me a fun baby shower while we were in town as well! It was so much fun to see friends and get to chat about the craziness that I'm having a baby so soon! This is a picture of the adorable diaper cake that one of my old neighbors made ... isn't it just so cute! :) I got so many cute things so Nick and I were grateful, because we're realizing that babies are so expensive ... and ours isn't even here yet!
Next up was Taylor's graduation open house! Here he is with his cake and all of his high school paraphernalia. I felt like I was running around the whole time trying to keep up with all the food and cut more cake, etc. But, it was a great party and I think Taylor really had fun.
Finally it was the graduation day! Here is Taylor looking very studious and scholarly! He was definitely ready for this day to come ... as is every high school senior.
Nick, Chelsea and my Dad went early to the gym to save seats. They got up on the top row so we could lean against the back to be a little more comfortable. However, we were crammed up there like sardines ... it was crazy and i was getting claustrophobic! Not to mention the fact that there was no way to get myself to the restroom!!!!
Before we left for the big event we made sure to take some lovely photos. I look like a hippo, i know! Anyway, we're on the slant in my front yard and it looks like my dad is taller than Nick! haha ... This picture just makes me laugh! :)
And finally, here is the video of Taylor officially graduated with the rest of the Olathe East High School class of 2008! Congrats Taylor. We really had a fun time, even though there was a lot going on. It was fun to see my family for the last time before we start bringing our little squirt along too!
Part two (Maryland) will come tomorrow or Monday!

Yay, Ive been checking everyday to see if you were going to post about your trip, becuase we somehow skipped over it during our phone conversation. I can't believe your luggage got all messed up! What a crock. And congrats to Taylor. I can't wait to see part II.
I can't believe they left your suitcase out in the rain like that! I'm glad their reimbursing you for the damage, but still, nothing makes up for the inconvenience of it all.
So I just got your baby shower announcement and I'm SO excited to see you!
You're such a cute pregnant women, DEFINITELY NOT a hippo!
Holy Cow! How can those airline people be so careless? At least you get your money back, sort of. You are so incredibly adorable! I love pregnant ladies!
PS no hippo there!
Your diaper cake is the cutest thing ever! And Taylor looks kinda cute, too, in his cap and gown, but don't tell him I said so!
