Easter Weekend Part 3: Easter Sunday

We had a fun Easter as a family yesterday. We have early church so the Easter bunny waited to come until after nap time after church ... wasn't that nice of him? Seth's nap wasn't too long since we was so excited. The second he woke up he asked if the Easter Bunny was downstairs. He was ready for the "HUNT!"

Quick funny story: Our church program had a picture of Christ standing outside the tomb on the front. Seth was really looking at it hard for a while and then looked up at me and had a lot to say, " Mom, this is a picture of Jesus. (pause) But, mom, he's lost and all his friends are lost too (pause) because he's dressed like a ghost!"

Well, didn't know what really to say to that other than laugh and agree that it was a picture of Jesus. The things this child comes up with crack me up!

He was so excited! Once he started down the stairs those teeth were showing ... he couldn't stop smiling for the longest time!

The first few eggs were so exciting to find.

"I found a Egg!" seemed to be a repeated phrase!

He found his Easter Basket full of surprises and treats ...we quickly emptied it and were off on the hunt for eggs all over the house!

This basket is cute and he picked it out last year, but I think we need an upgrade for next year. It was so small we had to keep emptying out the basket to find room for all the eggs in there.

Check out all his loot! I honestly don't even know how much candy he ate. It was pretty hilarious. Countless chocolates, jelly beans and M&M's and 3 packs of PEZ in his Bunny dispenser. He pretty much didn't even eat dinner. The night was therefore crazy. He was on a complete sugar high, running everywhere and acting crazy! But, that's the fun of Easter, so we let it slide for the day!

We had a fun Easter Sunday as a family. We talked to all 5 sets of grandparents and even video chatted with both of our parents. We had a yummy Easter dinner too. Pineapple-sugar glazed ham, twice baked potatoes, deviled Eggs, roasted broccoli and some ganache and toffee topped brownie bites to go along with all the other sweet treats the Easter Bunny dropped off. It was delicious!

Nick starts finals tomorrow, so as you can imagine, he'll be studying like crazy from here on out. Before we know it he'll be heading to Texas for a while so it was nice to take a break for the day and enjoy our little family!

Hope everyone had a fun Easter and got to enjoy it with Family and Friends.

Looks like a fun weekend! I loved the egg-dying pictures. I didn't get to do that this year and was sad. I'm sure Easter is extra exciting with Seth around.
