Yes, I finally got all situated at home again and am going to blog about our Christmas vacation. Nick, Seth and I took a crazy road trip across the country. We drove from Utah to Kansas, Kansas to San Antonio, San Antonio to Houston, Houston to Kansas, and then Kansas back home to Utah. Yes, we must have actually lost our minds before making this decision.
Although, it was great to see everyone, we are NEVER doing that again! Seth was actually an angel on the trip and watched cartoons and Christmas movies in the back seat while we drove everywhere. There were only about two times when he was upset and it was usually at the end of the day when Nick and I were probably equally as uncomfortable!
First off is Christmas in Kansas City. This trip started great because everyone except my mom knew we were coming. Our original plans were to go to Texas for Christmas, but long story short we went to Kansas first and then Texas. So, we decided not to tell my mom and surprise her. We put Seth in his car seat and door bell ditched my house and arranged for my mom to answer. We attempted to video this, however, our actual video camera was too hard to get to and my digital camera didn't work the best. But, the best part is my mom's verbal reaction. So, the video is at the bottom of the post. Turn your volume up and you can hear her freaking out! It was pretty hilarious.
My family has a bunch of traditions for Christmas Eve. Here are me and Seth getting ready for dinner. Seth looked so cute in his little Ralph Lauren Christmas outfit :)
Our family ... i pretty much look ridiculous!
This picture pretty much sums up Christmas for us! It was great ... Seth was so much fun to be with and loved being around everyone and getting ALL of the attention! Probably my new favorite picture ever of Seth.
He had fun playing with the bows and paper ... looks like someone caught him red handed!
Opening his Christmas Eve present from mom and dad ... boring clothes is all! :()
Christmas morning and we couldn't wait to go downstairs to see if Santa had come. My parents used to have us sit at the top of the stairs as kids. My dad would go down and start a fire and check to see if Santa came. It would seriously KILL us to have to sit there and wait. So, we re-enacted this a little bit.
Santa Clause brought Seth a little activity table. There are just a bunch of buttons and lights to play with. He loves it! :)
He was pretty tired in the middle of opening presents and had to take a little nap break. this was a few minutes before that.
Then Grandma helped him open the present from them. It was the cutest little zoo. The animals go around on the turn table and it sings cheesy songs that our whole family ended up singing around the house....example"Don't you think it's cold in here? the penguin just says NO! This is how I like it, with lots of ice and snow!" haha ... yes very amusing to hear everyone randomly break out into these songs.
Here's everyone in on the Christmas morning action!
Yes, Santa brought me some great things to chew on!
Apparently he wants to be a plumber when he grows up!
Once Talyor and uncle Al finally got the zoo out of all the plastic and such Seth couldn't stop playing with it!

Grandpa got a fancy movie pop corn machine for Christmas. So we had a movie night and watched some movies and had some pop corn!
Grandma and uncle Al enjoying the popcorn ...
Chelsea enjoying the popcorn!
Me enjoying popcorn and Nick going for the Raisinets!
Christmas in Kansas City was so much fun. It was great to be with family and just hang out and enjoy the season. We didn't get a chance to see as many friends as we'd like to have, but the trip was so quick that it was too hard to get everything in.

Here is the video of my mom ... remember just turn up your volume and listen to her reaction. It's pretty hard to distinguish anything in the video because it was so dark.
Next stop Texas ... soon to come!
